Timelines to Remember
Remember, planning any event takes time, but one of the most important things you can do for your guests is leave them enough time to get organized for your event.

Weddings
If you'll be sending out save-the-date cards it's best to do that around 6 months before the wedding. Invitations should be sent no later than 6 weeks before the date, especially for a summer wedding.

Parties and Showers
In the summer it's best to send out invitations at least 1 month in advance. If you'll be inviting a lot of out-of-town guests to your event it's best to give them a heads-up at least 2 months early. If your event is not too formal, a phone call to those guests would be sufficient.
